What is it about Kiran Chetry that inspires us to blog?
Yes, we admit that her looks play a factor. Hey, this is the news business. And the news business is show business.
But if the lovely Kiran Chetry was better known to the world for her appearance in, say, a series of commercials for, say, a floundering dot com, would we care? After all, if we leave out Sabine Ehrenfeld from Overstock.com, the answer is... Yes, probably. Who are we kidding?
But we would not know much about the personality behind the pretty face. We wouldn't know what she thinks about world events. We wouldn't get to see her natural reactions. All we'd see is a script. Well, thanks to Fox and Friends, a show that defies scripting as well as description, we do.
Yes, we might have loved Kiran Chetry otherwise. But we probably would not have started this blog. And so we thank Rupert Murdoch and Roger Ailes for the chance. We also thank Mr. and Mrs. Chetry for giving them the chance. And once Ms. Chetry returns from her maternity leave, we will all have the chance to realize why we were drawn to her in the first place. Come back, Kiran!
Go ahead and tell us, in the comments, what you love about Kiran Chetry. We have an open comment policy, but we must insist: Anything that puts Kiran Chetry in an unflattering light will not be tolerated. This isn't a democracy, it's a Chetocracy. Just in case this wasn't clear already.
Kiran is a special talent. She strikes me as a very kind person, and I think that she has a special affection for children and animals. I am a very conservative person, and I detect that Kiran is a tad on the liberal side, but I like her anyway. If all libs were like Kiran, this world would be a much better place.
