Clicking around the Fox News site awhile ago, I found a recipe for "Kiran Chetry's Chili." It's from February of last but somehow I had missed it. And well, I guess now it's too late for the Super Bowl -- but it should work just fine for the Pro Bowl!
Just in time for the Super Bowl, put your taste buds to the test with Kiran Chetry's world-famous chili!
Ingredients:
- 1 pound ground beef or ground turkey
- 1 medium onion chopped
- 1 green bell pepper chopped
- 2 cloves garlic pressed or chopped
- 1 or 2 packets of chili seasoning mix (depending on your taste)
- 1 15 oz can each dark and light kidney beans drained and rinsed
- 1 15 oz can black or white beans drained
- 1 28 oz can diced or crushed tomatoes
- 1 15 oz can tomato sauce
- 1 can or bottle beer
Note: Add more of your own seasoning to taste including chili powder, cayenne pepper garlic powder, etc.
Method: Brown the meat, drain. Sauté onion and garlic pepper until soft. In large pot add all ingredients. Slowly add the beer since it fizzes up!
Bring to a boil then simmer on low or 1/2 hour or more. Garnish with shredded cheddar, green onion and sour cream. Serve with cornbread or tortilla chips!
And let's face it, the Pro Bowl sucks. So why not spend that time making Kiran's super chili! I
